Bungie has confirmed that many ”under-utilized weapons” will be buffed in the latest update for Destiny 2.
In the latest This Week at Bungie newsletter, a Sandbox team associate designer explained that ”we moved a good bit of the balance changes from Season 18 forward to the mid-Season patch of Season 17, so this will be a bit lighter of a weapons-Sandbox TWAB than usual. That being said, there are still some changes we’re really excited about.”
High-impact auto rifles and lightweight bows have been buffed for PvE battles, with the devs stating that the weapons ”could still use a bit of love.”
In the buffs, scout rifles will cause 10% more damage to minor enemies. Non-sunset high-impact auto rifles will have their base stability stats increased by 6-12, depending on the weapon being used. The lightweight bow will now have a shortened draw time and an increased perfect draw window.
Glaives will have their melees buffed as well, allowing their hits to activate three Exotics: ACD/0 Feedback Fence, Karnstein Armlets, and Necrotic Grip.
Bungie is also making changes to existing perks for season 18 starts on August 23. The Gambit and Iron Banner perks will be completely reworked, and the Dares of Eternity weapons will have their own Origin trait.
The Exotics will be getting new effects completely. They are listed below:
- Le Monarque: Overload for poison arrows
- Thunderlord: Overload
- Malfeasance: Unstoppable on explosions
- Wish-Ender: Anti-Barrier
Wis-Ender will also be getting buffed big-time. It will hit most enemies three times instead of two times, and will deal an additional 10% damage to Champions, majors, and minibosses.
Fans will also learn about the final update for the old subclasses, Arc 3.0, ahead of the Destiny 2 showcase scheduled for August 23.
