In the latest of Overwatch 2 launch woes, Blizzard is now looking into a bug that is causing some PCs to shut down or restart.
On a customer support Twitter account for Blizzard, the company stated that it is “currently investigating an issue with computers restarting or shutting down while playing Overwatch 2.”
Blizzard is now requesting players who have dealt with the issue to aid in the investigation by providing it with their DXDIAG.
Since launching on October 5 as a free-to-play shooter, Overwatch 2 has been facing numerous issues. On the launch day, server issues were at their peak and precedingly, Overwatch 2 was hit by DDoS attacks.
Blizzard also announced that they were dropping phone requirements for some Overwatch 2 players after the controversy surrounding the new phone verification system arose.
Overwatch 2 launched on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
Blizzard has since apologized for the issues with the launch of Overwatch 2 and has announced plans to compensate players with in-game items and double XP weekends “to help make up for any lost time.”
The company went on to say that “we’ve largely stabilized the game overall, and we’ve made a lot of progress in fixing or improving issues some of you are facing. We’re committed to consistently investigating issues as they arise, working quickly towards fixes, and being transparent with our community on the status of Overwatch 2.
“The team continues to work to deploy further stability updates, with another patch planned for later this week, and we are monitoring the game closely for emergent issues and bugs.”
