TikTok is coming out with a new monetization program in the US that’s designed to help realtors increase potential earnings. It’s also supposed to “unlock more exciting, real-world opportunities.” TikTok is currently calling it The Creativity Program.
The Creativity Program is set to build on initiatives like the Creator Fund and TikTok is stating that it took feedback from previous efforts into account when designing their new program.
Currently, details are sparse. TikTok is saying that the Creativity Program is currently invite-only before it will open up to all eligible US-based creators in the coming months.
Users must be at least 18, meet the minimum follower and video view counts, and have an account in good standing. TikTok did not state how many followers a user will need to take part, but a previous report shows that it may be 100,000–a dramatic step up from 10,000 for the Creator Fund.
Additionally, TikTok says that users need to post “high-quality, original content longer than one minute” to earn anything through the Creativity Program. Creators will also be able to track video eligibility on an updated dashboard and see their estimated revenue.
TikTok confirmed to TechCrunch that the Creativity Program would pay out “a higher average gross revenue for qualified video views.” The Creator Fund has come under intense fire in the past by TikTok content creators for paying out a few dollars despite creators garnering millions of views on their videos.
The Creativity Program has been under testing in France and Brazil and will be coming to the US soon. TikTok is also working on other monetization plans.
