The lengths many people will go to just to get a taste of really fancy food and a show is crazy sometimes. Despite any jokes we may have, these restaurants charge seriously big bucks and they get seriously big attention.
These restaurants are so expensive though that they are run by Michelin-star winning chefs and serve to some very exclusive crowds. So, without a further ado, these are the top ten most expensive restaurants in the world:
10. Ithaa Undersea
At $320 per person minimum, this underwater marvel in the Maldives is one of the most expensive restaurants in the world. Located five meters below in the Indian Ocean, you’re not just there for the food, but you’re also there for the killer scenery and experience of eating in the ocean. Why not?
Up to 14 guests can be accommodated at one time. Headed by Italian Chef Marco Amarone, the restaurant serves four-course lunches and six-course dinners.
9. Aragawa
Costing an upwards of $370 for a single person, Aragawa is unique in that it offers an a la carte menu. With a selection of premium meats like Wagyu and Kobe, Aragawa boasts some of the highest quality cuts of meat in the industry.
The secret? The cows are given amazing treatment before being slaughtered so that the meat comes out tasting like a slice of Heaven.
8. Kitcho Arashiyama
We’re back in Japan again, but this time in the vibrant metropolis of Tokyo. Costing anywhere from $380 to $570 for a single person, the Tokyo branch of this chain has earned a whopping three Michelin stars. That’s a big deal in the restaurant business.
With its unique design and beautiful setup, all dishes served are seasonal.
7. Guy Savoy
Located in the city of lights, Paris, France, Guy Savoy’s restaurant is among the most luxurious and expensive in the world. Prices go for a person anywhere from $385 to $626. Another location is in Las Vegas as well, and the two have earned multiple Michelin stars each.
With a 13-course tasing menu, you can enjoy unique dishes like marinated duck, monkfish, and more oddities.

6. Restaurant De L’Hotel de Ville
Switzerland is home to several of the most expensive cities in the world, and is also home to one of the most expensive restaurants in the world. At $415 per head, Restaurant De L’Hotel de Ville gives you the chance to enjoy an 11-course tasting menu and boasts three Michelin stars.
5. Maison Pic Valence
We’re back in Paris, France for another of the most expensive restaurants in the world. Maison Pic Valence costs about $445 per head, and is run by female French chef Sophie Pic. She’s one of the only female chefs in the world to run a three-star Michelin restaurant.
A nine-course menu is available, and Pic is known for using a creative angle to her dishes, so you won’t leave disappointed.
4. Masa
We’re in the Big Apple (New York City, of course) in the United States for this next super expensive restaurant. At $595 per head, chef Massa Takayama creates some of the most premium dishes out there for a true dining experience.
Chefs prepare dishes daily depending on fresh, local ingredients. With a simple sushi menu, Masa focuses on the simple but elegant.
3. Ultraviolet
We’re back in Asia for this one, specifically in Shanghai, China. Shanghai is one of the most expensive cities in the world, so it only makes sense to boast one of the most expensive restaurants out there.
Going from $570 to $900 per head, Ultraviolet has one table for ten guests only. About 10-20 tasting courses are available, but it’s not just about the food. Ultraviolet gives you the atmosphere with audio and visual effects too.
Also, three Michelin stars. Enough said.
2. Per Se
And we’re back to New York with Per Se! At $680 per head, Per Se is headed by Thomas Kellers. Plus, it’s got three Michelin stars. It’s nine-course tasting menu is influenced by American and French cuisine and is its most popular option.
With 19 tables, you’ve got a view of some of the best sights in New York City.
1. Sublimotion
In Ibiza, Spain, Sublimotion isn’t just a place to dine. It’s a place to experience! Being the most expensive restaurant in the world, Sublimotion costs…brace for it…
$2,380 per head.
The restaurant boasts a 20-course tasing menu, and is open only from June to September during the Spanish summer. Michelin two-star chef Paco Roncero runs the place, and it’s really impressive.
A 20-course tasing menu over the course of three hours is served to you by 25 professionals. Aside from food, there’s laser light shows, VR elements, and projection mapping. It was awarded the Best Innovation Food and Beverage Award in 2014, even.
It’s also super hard to get a reservation here. Really super hard.
