Rocksmith+, a guitar learning service subscription by Ubisoft, will be arriving on PC on September 6. After a delay of about a year, the service will finally be available exclusively through the Ubisoft store for PC.

At launch, about 5,000 songs will be available from hit artists. Ubisoft also claims that Rocksmith+ will feature the “largest catalog of official songs ever offered in a music learning service.” The company is also pledging to bring “millions” of songs in the future.

Users who previously had a chance to try Rocksmith before or got to test it in the closed beta will get loyalty pricing. Users can subscribe for three months up front and get a freem onth. Additionally, if you prepay for a year, Ubisoft will give you three free months.

Currently, the subscriptions are at $15, $40, and $100 for one-month, three-month, and 12-month subscriptions respectively.

In order to use the service, you have to connect your guitar to your computer. You can download the Rocksmith Plus Connect app on an iOS or Android device and you can use the phone’s built-in microphone to detect your playing. Or, you can use Ubisoft’s Rocksmith Real Tone Cable to connect the instrument. You can add effects to your playing with Ubisoft’s cable.

Ubisoft did note that you may be able to use a third-party audio interface, but that may not work and the company cannot offer tech support in this instance.

No mention was made for a PlayStation or Xbox version that had been previously announced, but the mobile version of Rocksmith+ is coming in the fall.
