Sega is partnering with a V-Tuber named Inugami Korone to make some in-game DLC costumes that Japanese players can get their hands on if they pre-order Sonic Frontiers.
Players will be able to replace sound effects with Korone’s voice, there will be an acrylic panel of Sonic and Korone together, Sonic gloves and shoes with Korone designs, and a reskin for Coco that makes them into Koronesuki. Japanese players can get the crossover for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.
Inugami Korone is a popular virtual anime YouTuber with 1.86 million subscribers. She has a strong love for Sonic as well. The Korone edition is not available in the United States, but there are pre-order bonuses for American players.
It looks like Sonic will have some level of customization in the game, but the extent of that is not very clear as of right now. If you pre-order the deluxe edition, you’ll get “additional shoes and gloves for Sonic,” so it looks like this may be what is customizable in-game.
